The Biden Administration has announced a clearer path to legal residency and eventually citizenship for the spouses of U.S. citizens. The class of those eligible, however, is narrow - to be eligible, one must have been living in the U.S. for ten years or more and have been married to a U.S. citizen on or before June 17, 2024. But an applicant need not first return to their home country to apply, as was the previous policy.
